Rancho Simi Recreation and Park District Director Ed Abele announced July 28 that he will retire from the board at the end of his term, concluding nearly a decade of service. Abele was appointed to the park board in 2017 from a field of 15 applicants, elected by voters in 2018, served as board chair in 2020 and again in 2025 and was the top vote-getter in the 2022 election.
