Editor’s note: Results have been updated to reflect both the county and district-wide results.   Polls closed promptly at 8 p.m. Tuesday, and the first batch of ballots has been tallied for the Aug. 4 primary election. Of the 28,995 registered voters in Jefferson County, 8,890, or 31% of ballots, have been counted as of 8:40 p.m. on Aug. 4 u2014 20,105 ballots remain to be counted.
