On Friday, July 31, 2026, at approximately 8:27 P.M., a California Highway Patrol Oceanside patrol vehicle was struck by a DUI driver on Valley Center Road at Round Tree Road. Preliminary investigation showed, a white Jeep Wrangler was traveling northbound on Valley Center Road, by a 52-year-old male. For reasons still under investigation, the Jeep veered into opposing lanes of traffic and collided into a red Fiat. Following this crash, the Jeep continued out of control and crashed into the left side of a California Highway Patrol vehicle.
