Ordinance amendment approved in support of HOMe facility vision
MOORESVILLE u2013u00a0Clearing the path for future projects designed to help the homeless, town commissioners have approved an ordinance amendment to allow specialized u201csupportive housing.u201d At the town boardu2019s July 6 meeting, on the issue proposed and outlined by the HOMe (Hope of Mooresville) organization, commissioners unanimously approved the ordinance change establishing parameters for the creation of a transitional housing facility within specific zoning designations. Mayor Chris Carney and Commissioner Eddie Karriker were excused from the discussion and vote due to family ties to the HOMe team, while other board members enthusiastically endorsed the matter in a 4-0 vote.
