The Research Centre for Neurogenomics will exploit and integrate genetics, multi-omics, disease modelling and advanced imaging approaches using different systems – from animal models over stem-cell derived neuronal cell cultures to organoids (complex assemblies resembling tissues and organs e.g. brain-like structures that can be grown from stem cells in vitro) – to investigate nervous system structure-function and neuronal development, with particular attention to molecular mechanisms underlying neuropsychiatric and neurological disorders, including neurodegenerative diseases.
