Among the many updates in the 2024 revision of the EU’s Energy Performance of Buildings Directive (EPBD), one of the least discussed—but arguably most consequential—is the revision of the cost-optimality framework. Now, as the Commission actively gathers feedback on its draft updated methodology, stakeholders have a unique opportunity to influence the outcome of the Delegated Act—and we strongly urge them to take part in the consultation before May 7th.
