GAINES TWP. u2013 The Genesee County Election Commission has approved petition language in the recall effort targeting Gaines Township Treasurer Robert Henderson. Neither Henderson nor the petitioner, Connie Greene, attended the petition hearing Thursday, Aug. 6. Greene now has until Tuesday, Feb. 2, to collect 911 valid signatures to force an election in May. Henderson is one of two Gaines Township officials facing recalls for not hiring former Interim Fire Chief Scott Mangrum as the new chief. The Election Commission in June approved the recall petitions naming Supervisor Daniel Jenkins.
