Located on Tsar Osvoboditel Boulevard, one of Sofia’s most prestigious streets, this hotel by Lazzarini Pickering blends innovation with architectural harmony. Its stone base connects with neighbouring buildings, while a glazed façade framed by a metal grid defines the guestroom windows. Fixed and operable panes alternate to provide natural ventilation as an alternative to air conditioning. A second, internal façade of adjustable golden-yellow panels allows guests to control privacy and light, creating a dynamic interplay between inside and outside. Inspired by the domes of Alexander Nevsky Cathedral, these panels transform the building’s appearance throughout the day and night. The upper levels, carved into a sculptural steel ziggurat, host luxurious suites with private terraces and a panoramic skybar. The result is a constantly evolving landmark that reflects Sofia’s architectural elegance and contemporary spirit.
