Luke Cyphers is an assistant managing editor at Sportico. In 2026, he and Michael McCann worked on a joint investigation with Rolling Stone, The Predator in the Church Basement, that won the Deadline Club Award for sports reporting. He has won multiple Associated Press Sports Editors honors for investigative reporting, several awards for feature writing as a contributor to Adirondack Life magazine, and his story about human trafficking of teenage basketball players for Bleacher Report, co-written with Teri Thompson, was selected for The Best American Sports Writing 2017.
